About Us

Women Gender Developers (WOGEND) was set up as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in 2002. It was officially registered under the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on the 16th day of March 2009.

WOGEND has over 18 years direct and relevant experience (from 2006 to date) working with migrants, vulnerable children and caregivers at the point of service delivery in Kano State supporting them to establish livelihood and income generating activities (IGAs). WOGEND has gained this experience from receiving different USAID/PEPFAR sub-awards/grants.

We have put in place a unified management plan that maximizes the contributions of experienced staff with a project office at Kano. Our staffing plan presents a strong Nigerian technical team of leading HIV and OVC experts to implement the program, supported by robust management systems and excellent operational staff.

To contribute to the social and economic development of Women and their families.

To link women farmers to sources of appropriate and relevant improved agricultural technologies and inputs.

To provide Micro-Enterprise/Vocational Training to Women and Youth groups for enhanced income generating activities and economic stability.

To create awareness and encourage women on the importance of organizing themselves in groups for empowerment and sustainability.

To promote advocacy for women empowerment

To encourage skills acquisition and income generating activities through linkage with microfinance institutions for soft loan and small grants for women and youth.

To provide medical assistance to needy especially women and children, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.
